Walpole Park Rose Garden

How sad to read that the rose garden is being destroyed in Walpole Park, I spent many hours working there before being made redundent in 1990. During the 1980s, under the leadership of Supervisor Cyril Baker, the team working at the park created an award winning Park. Turning the park back to what it was originally is a backwards step and DESTRUCTIVE. It is also a waste of money, whether that money comes from the coffers of Ealing Council or the Lottery Fund or anywhere else, it is a waste of much needed resources.

....and finally get rid of that horrible smell from the roses!!....and get rid of all that messy wisteria that dangles everywhere and stinks...and remove the magnolia trees that block the views of that wonderful brick of the manor and art gallery...and I can't wait until they pave over the walled garden and replace it with the café/event centre and landscaped low maintenance hedges.....Change it all and Change it now !:/

They were tea roses. Ugly colours, straggly, overgrown. I won't miss them at all. There will be more than wildflowers in replanting. Why does everybody hate change so much? sorry.
