Vehicle Excise checks taking place

Very gratifying to see that somebody has been out enforcing untaxed vehicle offences in the Northfield's area by placing a bl**dy great yellow wheel clamp on the offside front wheel of offending vehicles.Quite surprising just how many untaxed vehicles there are!I'd love to see the faces of the owners when they see those clamps.  :-)

Saw a nice new a shiny Porsche Macan ticketed, stickered and clamped on Bond Street, W5 today.

You can check whether any vehicle is taxed at this Government web site  https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-taxAssuming the number plates are genuine of course

I just hope they keep it up because, as you say, without a tax disc it is impossible for the public to identify offending vehicles.And I do hope they keep using those marvellously businesslike heavy duty wheel clamps as well.  Nothing says "you're nicked" quite so bluntly.  :-)

Good. Who ever decided to do away with tax discs must be mad. It is so difficult for the public to report dumped vehicles without  having a tax disc to identify non tax payers and report them. Glad to see that action is being taken.

Yes, excellent indeed.I was rather worried about how they would enforce the new rules when they were first announced.I do hope that what we are seeing is not just a one-off 'PR' exercise to be followed by a decline in enforcement as time goes by.

Tony, I think they are also checking untaxed vehicles in Acton as there are a number of card with a huge yellow clamp on them!

Yes, there's a Merc clamped outside my house! Luckily it's not mine ;-)It does feel a bit weird no longer having a tax disc.
