A lot, lot, lot more for the brick wall! The variances are huge with choice of brick, thickness and bond etc.Dont forget also you will need a concrete footing and will have more spoil to remove. My choice would ALWAYS be the brick wall. Done right they are classy, character, warm, last infinitely longer and add value to a house. It's just if your budget stretches.Lets assume its an 8 metre length of wall at 1.40 metre high; nice metric facings likea Funton (Cherry Orchard Yellows & Reds my personal favourite if you live in a london stock built house), 1b thick onto and including a 450mm wide x 500mm footing; brick on edge capping course and slate creasing inc 3 thickenings / columns after removal and disposal of fence etc by skip and everything reasonably close to the highway with good access. You're looking at around £3,000 + VAT there if all done properly. You can save a bit by buying the bricks yourself direct from Seccombes or similar and there's plenty of dealers who'll save you 20%Like I say much will depend on the variances and who does it plus the luck of the draw on the brickie (is he looking for work?!)
