Wheelie bins for Ealing ?.
I was very unlucky to be seconded to observe a council meeting (not Ealing not London) Re landfill and council costs.To reduce council costs it was suggested wheelie bins for refuse, yes I thought that was fairly usual for London councils But the suggestion was for mini wheelie bins (half size to usual wheelie bins !).Reason given was that their recycling has increased so much that there was no more need to cart away as much refuse and the use of mini wheelie bins ( ONE mini BIN per 2 adult property) they would be able to continue to offer a weekly collection service.The rural council has voted to examine further the mini bin proposal.Ps I am not relocating there,ever.
