Flat screen TV repair

Hi All. Where can I get a newish TV checked out? It has an intermittent fault which may be something minor but may not. Thanks

Thanks both. Can't remember where we bought it - possibly Currys but yes, we do usually buy from John Lewis - I'll see if the old man can remember where it was purchased

A very good point Tom.I would advocate buying anything 'TV' like from either John Lewis or Richer Sounds.The first offer a free five guarantee. The latter a five year guarantee either free or for 10% (fixed) of the purchase price. In the case of their paid warranties if you do not claim you get the premium back!

If it's under 6 years old and even if out of warranty, contact the shop which sold it to you, quoting the Sales of Goods Act 1979 under which the goods supplied must be of reasonable quality. If it develops a fault before then it clearly is not, therefore the supplier is in breach of contract.I have just had an out of warranty Samsung TV repaired, collected and delivered by Currys for free. It would have cost me upwards of £250 to repair otherwise, as the screen needed to be replaced.Good luck!
