Too many people with a mental illnesses are being sent to prison rather than receiving treatment that they need. Now, one in every three households are affected by one kind or another mental health disorder, so the judiciary needs their heads being banged together and issuing treatment rather than bang people up in overcrowded prisons. It's ridiculous that we are wasting £40k a year placing ill people into custody rather than usefully getting treatment. Consequences are that 90% of inmates have a mental health illness.Thanks for sharing the news..
