Star & Anchor refurbishment - closed 7/2 until 9/2

Hello everyone,We'll be closing the Star & Anchor for a long weekend from this Saturday morning for a lick of paint and a quick spruce up, and will re-open on either Monday evening or Tuesday lunchtime. We shall also have some exciting news about our new food offering in a couple of weeks.Thanks for your continued support!

I've not been there for a while, but have always found service uber friendly.  Glad it is still frequented.  A nice addition to West Ealing on a very busy stretch.  I was there by the bus stop around 7.30pm on Saturday evening just gone and was amazed how buzzy it all was.  Really good to see.

It is indeed. We're not a free house, but have a very long lease from Heineken. We're only tied on our draught beer and so can offer an ever-changing selection of ales, and we have a 50-strong world and craft bottled beer list as well.We're also dog-friendly, open late on Fridays and Saturdays and pride ourselves on our friendly service. The outside was painted much darker than we asked for so we can look a bit foreboding, but it's much more welcoming inside, particularly by the fire.We DO, however, have some antlers on the wall - purchased by ourselves from ebay!

Colin. Let us hope so. Many pubs are now just becoming property speculation enterprises. The revenues do not matter so long as the property or resale value keeps going up. This is how Fuller Smith & Turner justifies its pub operation to its shareholders. As long as the property prices keep on going up it does not need to provide customer service. Les.

I thought the Coach & Horses was where The Castlebar operates. The Star & Anchor is on the same side of the road but further West between the Job Centre and the new block where Daniel's store once stood

Colin, Surprised you are not aware of it as it has been in new hands and fully refurbished for 3 or 4 years - although its darkly painted exterior does not make it stand out if you drive down this rather gloomy stretch of the Uxbridge Road.Inside it very good decorative order with friendly atmosphere. Modern but not overly Shoreditch uber-cool.Has very good reputation for food and, being independent from the breweries, has regular guest ales.I recall in its last iteration as a pub it was called The Baroque

Not an establishment I'm familiar with?I do hope you dont have the temerity to be a decent establishment, selling beers and food more expensive than the Hungry Horse or put fake stuffed animals on the wall?If so expect the "Down with the Ealing Park Tavern" mafia to come gunning for you!!EDIT -- sussed it! You used to be The New Anchor (formerly the Blue Anchor) in West Ealing I think? Had many a happy night in there back in the days of hair and energy... sadly both gone. A few late lock in's upstairs and I also DJ'd a couple of times in there when it went a bit "trendy" about 12 or so years agoGood luck
