Parking Office Inefficiencies

Whilst it is good that Resident Permits can be applied for on line now thereby eliminating wastage on snail mail I was disappointed to find that having ordered my permit, some hourly visitor passes and some daily visitor passes in one seamless transaction this morning I received through the postone hand addressed envelope, franked first class containing the hourly passesone hand addressed envelope, franked first class containing the daily passesno parking permit.Surely it cannot be that great an IT task to produce a picking list to be filled along with a printed label? And given the turnaround times why bother with first class?

I applied for a parking permit before Xmas and some 3 weeks later they sent the application back to me to say I'd missed out sending the proof of address info. I admit I did as I had attached the vehicle reg document for my new car and then forgot to re-read everything.  They sent the whole application back rather than just a letter too! In the meantime i'd been paying £4.50 a day to park outside my house as no permit had arrived.  I forgot one day and yes you guess I now have a ticket. I tried to ring them - recorded messages only, I've emailed and surprise, surprise no response. Meanwhile my car is parked on a on CPZ road whilst awaiting for my new permit!

Well the permit arrived several days later but at least the address was preprinted and they used second class postage.

LBE is a joke , I am afraid. Having spent every day of my life in Ealing I get frustrated when trying to recommend people to the area. Am sure other L/A's are similar but I take it personally when I think where is my C Tax going.

Stupid ! agree with you Andrew. Have you sent them an email about it? Mind you, that would probably illicit another 4 letters all posted 1st class.
