Hi Gerry Extending aerials randomly isn't generally a good idea,they need to be resonant especially in difficult cases like yours. It's a bit like hitting a wall with a stick,you don't transfer any energy into the wall it just comes back up the stick to your arm (who hasn't done that as a kid?), it's called a standing wave.If you do want to try extending your aerial then a 3/4 wavelength is the place to start,I've done the calculations for DAB and the total length should be 1.050 meters that's including the length of the retracted radio aerial inside the case. If you can then the extend wire should if possible be pointing in the direction of Crystal Palace....it may work or it may not! If it does then maybe you could get a croc clip from City Radio (are they still trading?) to make it a bit easier/tidy.In the near future DAB+ is coming on stream and should be more robust,I hope your Evokes are DAB+ ready,your problem may go away then.
