Reach of Ealing Today

Out of curiosity, when you are outside the borough of Ealing, where is the furthest place that you have been when you have posted a comment?Although I don't get notifications of comments, I will admit to being in Derbyshire at the  top of Kinder Scout (ha ha) when I stupidly logged on and read an opinion - from someone who clearly is a racist - about a woman on the 207 bus that provoked me enough to comment!So over to you ladies and gentlemen. I can't imagine that 120 miles from Ealing is the furthest location!

They were our Forum fantasy journeys to Vyborg Gerry when, after viewing the local webcam, we smuggled ourselves onto the streets of that city and looked around!We had just learned how to post pictures on the Forums and we uploaded some great Russian landscape and town art scenes to knit into the flowing adventure. Glad to hear that you thought it was reality... you were a key cyberspace traveller!

I well recall Graham's postings from Harris and the Isle of Lewis on the Outer Hebrides.The charming lady posting from Ireland was Ann Allridge (RIP) who , with Gerry, oversaw the friendly and interesting development of the local forums..... in the old days (use the search box which lists over 800 of her name).Audrey Walton, a Brentonian,  often posts from the far side of the USA Portland) just like that.  The NZ's may be the winners.

Gosh Nigel and Ben, that was quite a long time ago. Fellow neighbours in Ealing went to stay in New Zealand with their son and they used to use EalingToday from NZ and Australia.  Also, there was an ex-Ealingite who went to live in Nantucket USA, who used this forum to swap news occasionally. Both a long time ago. Then there was an Irish lady(forgotten her name) who used this forum from Ireland. Happy times.

ChiswickW4 has someone who lives in France and then Chris Calvi-Freeman, recently returned to his native New Zealand, still posts from time to time. That has to be the record, unless there is someone posting from the moon.

Way back we had a logon from an ex-Ealing resident who sent greetings from, IIRC, South Australia. I think that Gerry knew him/her.
