I confess to "codding it up" a bit, however, local doctors are encouraged to send patients to Ealing Hospital. There is some form of inducement, be it overt or covert, imposed by the local health district.

West Middlesex is a PFI hospital and no doubt the costs of that are a factor in other closures. No doubt at some point Ealing Hospital will be slimmed down and most will transfer to West Middlesex so that they can sell Ealing Hospital land to help subsidise the PFI contracts. The truth of the NHS is that the previous government used the poor value of PFI to build new hospitals. In the process they introduced poor value into the NHS. So in these cash strapped times that means other areas have to be cut. When you look at Ireland where a third of hospitals have been closed, the current health service is on the edge of a cliff. So stay healthy is the only answer!!

"...if he/she sends you to Ealing Hospital CHANGE doctors immediately, the doctor is eaither getting a bung or is related to someone working at Ealing Hospital..."You seem to be well informed Neil - have you proof of these claims?

So what is new about this? Ealing A&E has been rubbish for the past fifteen years. You know when something smells when it gets lots of publicity to save it, etc. THAT amount of advertising and propaganda and you know that its bad.No doubt Bell and the local politicians are patting themselves on the new boulevarde look of Southall Broadway while people die at Ealing A&E.You can tell if you have a good doctor or not in one very simple easy step: if he/she sends you to Ealing Hospital CHANGE doctors immediately, the doctor is eaither getting a bung or is related to someone working at Ealing Hospital...

Took my husband to Charing Cross yesterday lunchtime. Got there in fifteen minutes and was able to park right outside, its being a Sunday. I do recommend that people have unexpected crises Sunday lunchtime and not, say, late Saturday night.
