Buying Christmas trees in Ealing?

Which is the best place to buy Christmas trees, where a purchaser may park their car and choose a suitable tree?  What is the botanical name for the tree which doesn't shed its spike leaves quickly and hass a kind of bluey/green foliage please? Thanks and a happy Christmas season to one and all.

Well, they are grown specifically for the purpose.It's not like you are slaughtering your own square metre of the Amazon rain forest - never to be replaced.Ergo - it's a carbon neutral activity.I like a natural tree myself but this year #1 son's girlfriend is coming for Christmas and she's apparently very allergic to Christmas trees... so... for the very first time ever, this year we will be having an artificial tree (courtesy of Wilko West Ealing this morning :-) ).

PennySadly, Peter Ives who sold the wonderful tree and wreaths outside 'my' church will not be there this year as he passed into God's care after a long illness only last week.

Gerry, I know that every year they sell trees at St Thomas's Church in Boston Road. Easy to park there but I don't know when they start. Maybe someone goes to that church and can tell you?

The guys running the stall by The Harvester at Boston Manor are doing a roaring trade and you can park virtually next to their area.Like Dianne though my faithful Ikea spruce will descend from the loft for it's annual outing as I can't justify killing a tree for a few week's decoration.

I did buy my tree from Ikea this year - £25 and you get a £20 voucher to spend in the store so the tree cost me a fiver! It looks fab. Only downside is you have to go to the main queue to purchase.  I went on Sunday and it was very busy!  But if you got during the week it is fine.  Not an independent I'm afraid but I couldn't resist the deal.

We all like to spend with independents....but they are much more expensive for the same tree! Personally I would (and will) go to Wyvale over this weekend.
