Removal of vehicles (criminals?)

Today at 11:55 at Amhurst Gardens, just opposite West Middx. Hospital.The lorry was parked in the middle of the (narrow) road blocking all traffic.The vehicle targeted was causing no obstruction or blocking any access!! A ticket would have been sufficient if an offence was made.I couldn’t turn into Amhurst Gardens and the lorry was blocking an ambulance on the other side while the “officers” were taking pictures!Blocking an ambulance? In the proximity of a hospital!This is criminal as removing any car will take, at least, 20 minutes. Making money for the local council is more important than taking into consideration people’s lives!?I have come across similar situations in Chelsea and Fulham, lorries blocking the roads causing congestion and diverting the local traffic.Is it me or this is just insane? Strict guidelines should apply.

This happened to me about 5 years ago - I'd parked my car in the permit area (I had the correct permit before anyone asks) and as I didn't need to use my car for a few days, when i returned it was gone! Thinking the worst I called the police to be told that it had been removed as it was blocking a resident's delivery of a skip. I had no knowledge of this as if there had been signs I would not have parked there.The police gave me a number to contact to find out where my car was and when i phoned this number they told me that they had parked it in a certain road. Unfortunately the road that they parked it on was one of the longest roads in Ealing and they were unable to tell me where they had parked it! When I asked them why they had not informed me that they had moved it they said they were unable to do so due to data protection - strange I thought as the car was mine and had only originally been parked 50 metres away from where I lived. A note would have been couteous especially as at the time I had a terminally ill parent and was about to drive down to visit her.

I understand Alfredo to mean that it was the tow truck that was causing the obstruction and not the car it was taking away.
