Looking for bank I used to use in Ealing

Sorry this is a little vague. I believe banks are refunding monthly fees paid for accounts.  The only bank account I had a monthly fee on (for travel insurance, life assurance, etc) had branches in Ealing and Cheapside.  It would have been in the late 90s / early 00s and it was not one of the banks on Ealing Broadway.  It was down a street off Ealing Broadway on the opposite side of the road the Arcadia shopping centre.  It has been a while since I moved and I can't think which street or bank it was. I know it wasn't Barclays / Lloyds - could have been HSBC - but not sure.  If I could remember the name of the bank could look into a refund.  If you have any ideas please let me know.  It was near the main part of the Broadway where the Ealing Shopping Centre was and Poco Loco, etc.Thanks.

There was also a branch of Martins on the corner of, IIRC, Barnes Pikle. The golden grasshopper sign, which was their 'logo', was hanging on the wall for many years after they closed.

There was AIB too, Allied Irish Bank, it was in the building next to the lane with the horse statue.

Many if not all of the smaller banks have been taken over by the big giant banks like RBS. Glyn Mills Bank was my bank years ago, it used to have only three branches - then it was absorbed and became Williams and Glyn's Bank, then William Deacon's Bank and then swallowed by Royal Bamk of Scotland. I liked banks when they were small - they seemed to know and value their customers then - one feels like just a number now - sad really.

Wasn't there a Williams Deacons Bank at Ealing Broadway once upon a time.  The name Glyn Mills Bank rings a bell too.There were lots of different Banks once upon a time...but massive amalgamations seem to have taken place.  You bank with Drummonds?  or Child & Co.?  It's all soImpersonal these days.
