I think the thing to realise here is that 'Cash Converters' are not equipped to realistic value high quality jewellery. Their 'experts' will be aware of current gold prices etc and will buy based on weight. Personally, I cannot understand why your daughter would opt to sell (potentially) at CC over independent jewellers who certainly are equipped to recognise, value and indeed purchase this sort of thing. My brother is a goldsmith & jeweller based in the borough - he'd be able to do this on the spot in seconds (obviously the legalities take a while longer). I choose not to name him or his premises for security reasons, however any independent will offer a decent price for decent quality goods.
