Yes - a good turn out and a great result. We had eight people turn up at 10.00 then three more turned up mid morning.I was amazed how much we got done.Simon (as usual) worked like a demon and strimmed the whole Radbourne Walk - all 400m - top to bottom!  - by lunchtime!!!everyone collected the greenery and leaves which went into our compost bays. We filled two and a half (double sized) bays. It'll make lovely compost. The guys used the new tiller which we bought from our grant money - it worked a treat - and turned over the soil nearest the path. This will be for annuals.Three of us did the litter picking and filled two bags with beer cans and one of general rubbish. On the downside we found about 20 syringes - not so nice - but at least they were all in one spot. They were left by our local drug addict. I will take them back to the pharmacy that dispensed them on Mattock lane.I provided tea and cake at 11.30 and one of our plotholders provided lunch. We did say that Simon and I would be doing more that afternoon and thanked them for all their help. But, some of them decided to stay! so there were five people helping Simon and myself in the afternoon - which was nice. Then after lunch we planted up about 50 or so foxglove plug plants and finally finished planting the bluebell bulbs. It is going to look so good in the spring ;-)The path needs a good sweep - which I'm partly hoping the council will continue to do. But, no doubt there will be some more leaves to collect in the coming weeks....and more beer cans.Hopefully everyone can take a detour and have a look. I should also mention we are applying for a new grant to enable us to do work on the hedge inside the Allotment and deal with the Sycamores in the Radbourne Walk. The council have £625,000 in grant money to distribute to Ealing projects. We have set up a web page to outline our plans and over the coming weeks we need to drum up local support for our proposal. Please visit the website…https://spacehive.com/radbournerobin…and leave a message of support. The more support we get the more likely we are to get funding. If you can think of other things to add to our application do let me knowI am hoping to hold a public meeting in the next few weeks - so watch this space.Christina FoxChair: Ealing Dean Allotment Society.
