New organic shop Ealing Broadway

There is a new organic shop opened in Ealing Broadway just opposite As Nature Intended.I went in today and it is really nice inside and prices are much cheaper compared to As nature intended.I wish them all the best and it is so refreshing to have more competition as the prices at As nature intended is rediculous.So if you are passing by, do pop in and have a browse. BTW, the apples looked delicious.

Strangely the NZ exporters of pure Manuka were denied a 'DOC' for the product. There is a list of 'pure' producers on the net.

Of course everything is "chemical" and granted your "everything is chemical in the end" reasoning - but there's no denying that organic grown products taste quite a lot better.

Ultimately everything is a "chemical" - eg water H2O.  Why the assumption that most man-made chemicals are bad (most medicinal drugs are manufactured) and anything natural good (asbestos is a naturally occuring mineral fibre)?

Our allotments were 100% organic.  We never used chemical fertilisers - only our own-made compost and whatever manure we could beg, borrow or steal. As I've said before, our vegetables were delicious and noticeable compared to shop bought produce.

I saw a tv programme, maybe panorama that said that anyone can say something is organic even if it only contains 4% organic ingredients.Thats why if you buy organic milk from tesco or sainsburys, it tastes exactly the same as ordinary milk.Try it next time.

A few years ago we had an allotment behind St Mary's Church and grew only organic veg - they definitely tasted better than most inorganic shop produce, especially tomatoes, beans and potatoes - noticeably so.

Nigel: I recall reading that twice as much New Zealand Manuka is sold around the world ...as is produced!What a con!I even buy Organic Cornflakes.One question: are Organic Bananas worthy of having?

When I first bought organic tomatoes years ago, I was knocked out by the taste. now everywhere sells organic and the taste is not much different. so has organic been watered down and industrialised!!

I think the new organic shop is a 'pop up' shop so best stock up whilst it is still there! All the shelving looks very temporary.  I did go in there and buy my almond butter that I'd normally have to order online. It was incredibly busy so they look like they are doing well.  Good luck to them.

The difference Gerry, about a fiver a jar!Some really gullible people out there who believe that the bees will only collect pollen from organic plants - yeah right!The only truly organic honey is 100% pure New Zealand Manuka where the hives are located in are area with a five mile radius of organically grown Manuka trees and the 'crop' is discarded when there are adverse weather conditions where 'contaminated' pollen may be blown in.Most Manuka is around 70% but the 100% stuff can cost £50+ for a small jar.

I smile whenI see "organic honey".  When is honey organic and when is it inorganic?  Surely, ALL honey is organic.  I mean all honeybees are free to fly wherever they wish. I don't understand the difference between the two - could someone explain please?

Have you noticed how all the supermarkets are selling organic milk but my question is 'is it really organic?'.The reason i ask this question is i have a very sensitive nose. Before eating or drinking anything, i always have a sniff. So why is it that sometimes when i smell organic milk from the supermarket, it smells full of chemicals. I wish someone could prove me wrong but so far my nose has never failed me. Is there some sort of test that they do to determine what actually is in the milk like preservatives, chemicals. I heard once that they add whitener to milk to make it more white.

Even Heinz organic baked beans are a great and better choice.Any Bonterra organic Chardonnay in store?Viva organic!
