Fry-up in Ealing

Where is the best place to go in Ealing after my early morning strollfor a fry-up

Surprisingly they are and the bi-annual bleep tests are still conducted, at least in the Thames Valley force.

That might explain why so may police are incredibly overweight these days. I reckon 80% of them couldn't chase after and catch a criminal. They should be subject to stringent health checks, it's a job that demands at least some level of basic fitness.

I see the excellent Walpole Restaurant in St Mary's Road(near the Uni) is open on Thursday evenings now, as well as on Fri and Sat for dinner. But it seems to be temporarily closed during the day - the breakfasts there were always enormous.

I remember Butler's newsagent and general shop before the Thai restaurant came - our son went to the same school as Mr B's daughter. You could get a breakfast in there too in those days.  That must be about 30 or so years ago - wow, a blast from the past! Its now Butler's Thai restaurant and has been there a long time.

Yes the Horseshoe is an institution in Hanwell great breakfasts , the dinners are very good too, particularly liver and bacon top quality and plenty on the plate.

I gave up on the place years ago due to poor staff attitude. It has a steadily decreasing clientele owing to the attitude.

Its great to know that we're particularly well favoured with excellent outlets in Ealing for a good 'fry-up' and a 'cuppa'. And if one wants a slightly 'up market' breakfast, there are several cafes and restaurants offering superb eggs Benedicts or Florentines or scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon and tasty coffees of every variety.

I recommend Anne Cafe in Northfields Ave. near Parkers bakery great choice of breakfast at reasonable prices

Simon, the very best is certainly The Walpole in St Mary's Road(near West London Uni), run for years by Wendy and her husband Louis(he's the chef). But they are temporarily closed for the time being. I've been using The Walpole for nearly twenty years - their bubble'n squeak and black pudding with a full fry-up is the very bestest!I second Nell's in Northfield Ave(north end) - been going there through about five different proprietors over a dozen years - good standard full fry-up.Enjoy!

Nell'sRun during the past few years by an Albanian family. All meals top notch.Cons: best take your own tea bag.

Nell's - Northfield Avenue. Seems to be full of police also - always a good indicator of a quality fry.

Walk to Hanwell and go to Big Bites opposite the clock.You'll have to wait behind all the local police having a brekkie fry-up though :-)

I would have said that was a no brainer: The Walpole but I see from their website that they're not currently open for Breakfast. Sorry not particularly helpful!
