60 Young Volunteers in Ealing Looking to Help!

Hello!My name is Amy and I am representing NCS with the Challenge in Ealing. I currently have 60 young volunteers (aged 16-17) looking for a project that would help benefit the local community. The group would come with 7-10 staff that already know them, fully DBS cleared and trained, and up to £250 to go towards equipment etc for the day. We have worked with lots of great charities across Ealing and are very experienced with these projects so we can help to plan them with you. I'm looking specifically for Sunday 28th September and the only real limitation is that is has to be in Ealing. Could you help? Hi Linda, I do believe we actually met early last year my colleague and I came to visit you are the boxing ring (what a great place!) Thanks for the suggestion however we are already lucky enough to be working with the marathon which is super exciting, perfect type of opportunity though, exactly what I am looking for! We have used 120 Challenge Network Volunteers at the first 2 Ealing Half Marathons in 2012 and 2013 - they do a great job helping us out in Lammas Park on the day before and the day of the race.We'll see them again in 10 days time !

We used three teams at the Brentford Festival and another team were with two other charities.  Lovely, helpful smiley faces.  I have my own team in Boston Manor that day but wonder if they could perhaps assist with the Ealing Marathon?Will contact them to ask.

Hi Gerry, Good question - NCS stands for the National Citizen Service. Technically I work for The Challenge but over the summer we deliver the NCS programme so we are co-branded. Once they have been through the summer programme they then become alumni and automatically become part of The Challenge Society which is purely run by The Challenge and has no NCS influence. NCS (like us too) is a national charity and lots of other organisation run their curriculum also --> www.ncsyes.co.uk It is growing rapidly and this year we will have had around 18-20,000 young people take part in the programme which is hugely exciting since when I started in 2011 it was only 3,000! I'm always looking for people to contribute to the programme as there are a lot of different elements to it. Throughout the year I look for;- Charities that the young people can volunteer and fundraise for- Organisation that the young people can interact with- Professional organisation that they groups can visit- Local people to appear in a number of different role from being a Dragon in a panel to offering advice to young campaigners. There is a vast variety of things but our main ethos is that everything is local, local young people interacting with their local communities for the greater good of social cohesion.
