Silom Village

An FYI about Silom Village - despite the notice on the door stating they are closed due to refurbishing the kitchen, it is in fact for a cockroach infestation amongst other things. A friend of mine had quite severe food poisoning as a result of eating there. He reported it and the Council inspected it immediately and found a very poor standard of hygiene. It's a real shame in my book as I've had many enjoyable meals there.. not sure I'll go back now though.

I wouldnt expect them to have a website: it's not that sort of operation. I have eaten there regularly over 10-ish years since they started.Always pleasant food, authentic thai and asian, and cheaper than others.I hope they will learn from this closure.

I think our Council should be much tougher on unhygienic eating and food outlets in the Borough. If a restaurant doesn't clean up their operation satisfactorily enough, the propietor should be banned from trading imo.

It has been for me the best value dining place in the borough and no after effects either.

Silom Village reopen after kitchen refurb.Beaming manager told me in future cockroaches would be kept where they belong. On the menu!(no I just made that last bit up)

Disturbing to hear about Silom Village. I agree with others that Ealing Council should be much tougher on suspect eating places. There are a few dubious restaurants and shops in Ealing which should rigorously inspected.

Fully agree. Although there can be aberrations in the inspection process any establishment scoring '1' or less on two consecutive inspections should simply be closed (if the law permits) to protect the public.

There appears to be some filthy eating establishments throughout the borough if you go on the scores on the doors site. I am particularly shocked by the number restaurants in my northfields locale scoring below 3.The sooner these places have to display their rating the better in my view.

Strange. They don't even appear on the 'Scores on the Doors' website.
