Care homes

My Aunt (81 yrs) is being kicked out of her care home (Kent  Lodge in Pitshanger), on the grounds that she is too much trouble for the care home concerned. Admittedly  there is an issue with her which relies on district nurse care. In the light of this rather unfortunate descision (communicated to me quite horribly), does anyone know of a good 24/7 Nursing Home in Ealing?

We know two elderly residents at Trean House in Mattock Lane and they like the facilities there. Each summer we go to their 'open days' where they have sales of books, bric a brac and plants and other items - it appears to be well run and a pleasant nursing home.

I know a lady who is in threen house and her family are happy with things there.

I always found the proprietors to be a caring family who, unlike most, were not just there to make money. I am assuming it is still the Hopleys.

As per Graham Weeks reply,ghnh  are very good and really helpful.Their fees are similar to most other nursing homes in Ealing W5 but it depends on the care required.I was very happy to pay them,around £785.00 x 2  to look after my very elderly parents,money well spent.Thank you ghnh.Some say its cheaper to live in The London Ritz hotel but in reality it aint,do your sums.Its worth having a chat with them.All the best  James.

Hi Perrin, I meant to send you this info earlier, apologies if you have already found suitable accomodation. Downhurst, 76 Castlebar Road, Ealing 020 8997 8421 comes highly recommended by my friend who has 2 elderly relatives living there. She was also previously a carer for the elderly and has said that many care homes are not very well run, but she is very happy with the level of care and interaction with the residents at Downhurst

Check out the Care Quality Commission website for ratings and always visit the home.Hanwell House is ant to be good.
