Indian summer

What a beautiful day. It seems September is now the best time to book a late UK holiday. The kids are back to school and the weather each year after a dip in August makes a spectacular recovery in September for a few short weeks . Fingers crossed we have a couple of weeks of nice weather before winter sets in

Woke up this morning and had a pleasant surprise.  At 6:45 I opened the curtain to see a beautiful almost full moon of an unusual shade of light pink and very large - I think saw it smiled at me in my early-morning sleepiness, but I may have imagined it. Interesting weather we're experiencimg - I wonder if its a late Indian summer effect?

The weather's great, but make the most of this present fine climate 'cos the forecast for SE England is not looking good for next week with many showers and drop in temp - our Indiam summer won't last long sadly.

So far this summer/autumn has been great especially for fushias in our garden - they've never flowered as profusely as this year. Despite the rather wet Spring, we've had a good weather year I think.

I'm reminded of the great storm of the 15th and 16th October 1987.  A tree in the road fell into our front garden in the wee small hours of the morning - broke a glass window too! Mr Michael Fish of the BBC Met Office got it wrong that evening.

Agreed. I like my seasons based on the soltices and equinoxes which gives me another 3 weeks of Summer to enjoy.

The weather has been nice in September after a changeable August since I was a kid 40 years ago.  Nothing new.
