Some random musings on a walk to West Ealing on a fine late summer morning.
They are still resurfacing the path through St Mary’s churchyard as they have been doing since the middle ages. The Walpole has a sign up saying ‘Closed till further notice and will re-open for dinner on Friday 5th September’. What do they think ‘till further notice’ means? I can get into Walpole Park from the Green at last (hurrah) but am disappointed by the new ‘sunken garden’. Do hope they will do some replanting there to make it more like the old one. Lidl have those flat peaches at 7 for a pound. Why are they so much more satisfying that regular peaches? Wilkinson has rebranded itself as Wilko -- its nom de Internet. Work is being done by Murphy on the cables today. Why do they need a sign at temporary lights telling drivers to ‘wait for the green signal’. Is this not obvious?
