It's such a complicated thing Gerry,as far as people born in Scotland and now ex-pats having a vote in the referendum where would it end? Should Scottish ex-pats living in the USA,Canada,Australia and New Zealand be allowed to vote,if so there would be an overwhelming Yes vote due to nostalgia/faux patriotism (to whit Sean Connery etc)? The thing is,they don't live here, not that that's a chore,We chose to and we're not disapointed. It's my view that this is the most ill informed vote to date,I've read through the Yes white paper (all 700 pages)and I'm suspicious because there aren't any negatives contain therein and there should be, separation can't be that straightforward there are always negatives it's just like a divorce never easy.On the otherhand the No side hasn't really told us anything other than we wont be able to use the pound and that there may be some sort of Devomax after a No vote. Actually I completely completely agree that the Pound Sterling shouldn't be allowed to be used,I can't imagine anything that would cause more uproar on the streets of England (or Down South as it's called up here) than to have to bail out an independent Scotland, rightly so IMO.There should have been a third question....Devomax,I think that would have sailed through. As for a prediction well the bookies hardly ever get these things wrong and William Hill are saying 55% No and 45% Yes.
