Unwanted advertising

For some time I have been clicking the unsubscribe link on unwanted email adverts . Yet some persist in coming repeatedly. Can anything more be done?

Thank you Tony. Popups are already blocked. Hitmanpro.alert unfortunately has no Mac download AFAIK. I now know how to block unwanted sending addresses.

Graham  It depends on the browser you're using,but you can go here:-  http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/711/~/how-can-i-stop-pop-up-windows%3FSelect your browser and follow the instructions. It wont stop all Pop-Ups but it should reduce them.Whilst on computery things,there is an excellent free program called Hitmanpro.alert, it's a very small program that warns you if anyone tries to access your computer remotely whilst you're online...something that seems to be happening more and more.

If you use a decent e-mail programme Graham you should be able to add the sender's to your junk e-mail list with a few clicks. It doesn't stop you receiving them but does prevent you having to read them.Do not reply with  'stop' or similar for all this does for some junk e-mail senders is simply validate that you are a 'live' address.
