Argyle Road

Anyone affected by bad delays due to road works? I went to the bottom of our road to meet visitors coming from Perivale  station on the 297. The indicator at the stop said next bus 9 minutes. It was more than 6 minutes before the indicator showed 8 minutes.

I was commenting on the car diversion which was badly congested. It would all have been eased by the simple expedient of restricting parking to one side of those roads during the diversion.

From 8 pm to 5 pm buses have been diverted to Argyle road towards West Ealing, then they turn right towards Hanwell  to Drayton Bridge Road, then right again in Greenford Avenue which eventually take them back at the roundabout in Ruislip Road east. However, the roundabout in Scotch Common/Argyle road should was been resurfaced last night.  Few days disruption for road users and local residents are well worth the end result! At last, we now have a decent and safe road surface on that stretch of road. There is no gain without pain!

Coming home from Drayton Green around 9.15pm Argyle was closed at Cleveland. We were diverted left to join Argyle at the junction before Ruislip Road. We got through fairly easily but oncoming traffic was jammed the whole of the diversion.

The bus stops between Scotch Common and Ruislip Road East are closed between 20.00 and 05.00 for a few days and I have no idea where the buses are diverted.

I encountered this yesterday driving from East Acton to West Ealing.  The single-file section was very long and they had to include three phases to handle the traffic entering from Rusilp Road East.  For what appears to be routine resurfacing of a classified road (B455), I would have expected night or weekend working to avoid delays and pollution from stationary traffic.  I've encountered this before in Ealing.  Hounslow seem to work on shorter lengths at a time (in my experience).
