Thurs 14th is the day. What degree course have you chosen and which Uni would you like?

Absolutely not pharmacy now. Too much government red tape. I would be tempted to go for something that qualified me to work in the City, make money fast, retire early and then do something worthwhile.

Yes Philip, it is tempting fate for the youngsters who hope to go to university this year.  Perhaps I should have asked these questions:- "if one were young again, which subject might one choose to read and what university would be favourite".

I am pleased that those days ended for me 51 years ago. It was too traumatic. I thought I had failed only to be surprised by the best results in my year.

I think that would be tempting fate to go public with one's aspirations so close to judgement day - unless an unconditional offer already in the pocket of course.
