Foreign currency.

What's the best and most efficient way to get foreign currency?

There is a new-ish foreign exchange shop opposite the main entrance to the EBdy shopping centre on The Broadway. I used it once a few months ago with no problems. They have better rates that the M&S, Post Office and Travelex but the best rates in my experience are always at the Best Foreign Exchange shops mentioned earlier in this thread, the nearest one to Ealing is in Hammersmith, so it's not particularly local.

Marks/Thomas Cook/Post Office are all fine but you might get a better rate buying over the internet with free delivery.

If it's dollars or Euros then a pre-pay card like Caxton FX is the best way to carry currency.
