Crossrail stations in Ealing a warning.

The design of Ealing's upgraded stations is moving along. Now is the time to consider one failing of the lavishly expensive rebuild of Reading Station. My friend Dr Pierre Regrin-Falcone tells me it has been designed with an all singing and dancing spec with escalators everywhere etc etc. However the internal details of multiple nooks and crannies seem to have attracted most of the pigeons in Berkshire. The pigeons he suggests leave their visiting cards to greatly damage the passenger experience. Do hope the designers of our new station facilities are aware.

We need to be able to get to places without stairs when we are pushing a buggy/in a wheelchair/on crutches/carrying a suitcase etc.  If someone has to carry a buggy up the stairs it blocks the stairs.  Commuters find this very irritating - but then there are a lot of them and it shows there isn't enough room for everybody in the same space all at the same time.Sometimes you have to hide around the corner when people are pouring off a train and coming downstairs towards you down both sides (Turnham Green springs to mind).

Haven't been to Reading station recently. There have been a few stunningly good train station refurbishment in London - I like particularly St Pancras station. I hope we get some decent passenger-friendly new station revamps in Ealing. We deserve some imo.

I loved the way in which the stairs somewhere at Reading had a message to the walking public on the stair riser to encourage them to walk up the stairs on one side so as to allow people to walk down on the other.  I also like stairs where the rail is broken half way up so you can change sides so you can pass someone moving really slowly.  I appreciate though that this may be a problem for those who need an unbroken rail.

Feral pigeons are a hazard to passenger experience. Perhaps a few hawklike birds would deter pigeons from messing any new stations in Ealing. I wonder if the good doctor Pierre Regrin-Falcone would approve?
