Best history book about Ealing?

This has been raised before, but I'd like recommendations for a good reference book on the origins of Ealing, including please some social history and a touch of geography perhaps. Apologies for bringing this subject up again. Thanks.

There's a lot of material about Ealing in the Victoria County History series.  The relevant volume is "A History of the County of Middlesex: Volume VII: Acton, Chiswick, Ealing and Willesden Parishes", 308 pages.The bad news is that it costs £58.19 (Amazon price).The good news is that it's all freely available online at British History Online.  The contents of Middlesex vol.7 are at http://www.british-history.ac.uk/source.aspx?pubid=89.
