I suspect it depends on whether you are going for a bespoke brick built garage perhaps to blend in with the house in which case a general builder will be required. Alternatively if you are going for prefabricated, say concrete panels, these are typically erected by the manufacturer's own teams - though you would need to prepare the concrete base.
