Individual Electoral Registration.

I believe there's a new and different way to register, so that one has to individually register one's name to be able to vote in any election and referendum in the future. I'd better register immediately - have you registered?

They'll probably cover it when registration time comes around again. Usually autumn, isn't it?

It seems that the new 'Individual Electoral Registration' system will create one UK central database of eligible voters' names/details. (Presumably regional/council lists of voters' names will be drawn up from that database?)https://www.gov.uk/register-to-voteI'm surprised that national tv/newspapers haven't made more of the changes.

I don't think that you will have to register.  From what I read those already registered will be moved on to the new system.  Unless there is a change of address or some other difference you should be OK.  Gone are the days or they should have when the householder told everyone else in the house how to vote.

Maybe not here. More in areas with a large population that originates in places where corruption is endemic.

Won't be needed until next registration, Gerry. Not sure how this will work. A separate letter for each person currently registered at the address, presumably, rather than one letter covering the household.Is this really going to prevent fraud?
