Hanwell Carnival

Saturday June 21 is this year's Carnival in Elthorne Park Boston Rd (W72AD). Although plans are going swimmingly we do still need help on the day, from stewards to tell people where the loos are, to manning various attractions like the bucking bronco - general helping!  If you can spare even a couple of hours message me and we can take it from there. You'll get to wear a high vis vest and everything.  It's a great event, organised entirely by volunteers (nowt to do with the council) and it enables loads of charities to raise money Go on, you know you want to.

A well put together carnival this year. Pleased to say that the parade was much improved - recent years have almost been a case of blink and you'll miss it. Good to see and hear a few marching bands that added to the liveliness of it.This Sunday evening, the park is clear and tidy after the event. Well done to all who put the Carnival together.

Yes I just heard. Though anyone yearning for a sing song should come along for the Ealing Rock Choir on the Community Stage (the one furthest from the Beer Tent). They're on at half past four. Song sheets will be available!

Sadly, the 'choirs' event has been cancelled after a number of participants pulled out.

Sorry Bud, been busy - yes the dog show is on - it starts at 13.00. "Dog most like its owner" "fancy dress" "waggiest tail" and other classes are back.!

The theme this year is Musical Hanwell so do, after you have spent loads of cash in Elthorne Park pop 'next door' to St. Thomas the Apostle church where choirs will be singing from 2:30 onwards. Not into choirs? Pop in anyway and visit a lovely Grade 2* listed church which was the model for Guildford cathedral and which has some unique (for a small parish church) architectural features.
