Don't Let Facebook Make You Miss Out On Local News

They want you to share more personal stuff and see less of EalingToday.co.uk

Facebook has recently announced that they are making changes to the way their news feed operates which means that it will display fewer news stories and more personal information shared by users.

Although we prefer if readers access our site directly or subscribe to our weekly Ealing newsletter, we understand that many people want to use Facebook as a way of keeping informed.

However, if you are interested in local news in Ealing, this will become more difficult.

To avoid this happening, if you are on a desktop or laptop go to the EalingToday Facebook page. First make sure you have liked our page and then next to the 'Liked' button you will see an icon marked 'Following'. If you point your cursor at that it will give you options on how our stories appear.

If you want to ensure you don't miss items select 'See First' in your news feeds. If you click the pencil item next to 'Notifications' you can opt to be informed when we publish a new story.

On a phone or tablet click on the word 'Follow' or 'Following' and then select 'See First'.

Remember though that subscribing to the Ealing Today newsletter is the best way to be kept informed about local news. We will usually publish any big exclusive stories we have in the newsletter first and not all our articles appear on Facebook and other social media.
