Temporary Reprieve for Club Boulevard

Night club can reopen subject to a range of conditions

Ealing Broadway night club, Club Boulevard, has managed to persuade a Council committee that it should be allowed to reopen.

The club's licence was suspended following representations by the police. They had concerns about the management of the club and the security staff employed.

On 20 April Police applied for a summary review following several incidents at the premises. The Licensing Sub-Committee considered the application that evening and imposed an interim suspension of the licence.

The Licensee made representations in response to the suspension and the decision was to remove the suspension, subject to a number of conditions.

These include a new Designated Premises Supervisor to be appointed, a reduction in the opening hours and no externally promoted events to be allowed.

These are only interim steps as a full review of the matters must now take place at a further hearing on or before 15 May 2009.
