The sound of salsa will fill Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre’s Town Square this weekend (Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July) as Cosa Latina, Havana Good Time and Salsamoves take to the stage as part of the Ealing Festival.

 

Cosa Latina will be kicking the weekend off with their funky salsa and Latin rhythms on Saturday. The band is made up of nine members, with musicians originating from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Argentina and New York. The end result is easy to dance to music with a lively and charismatic lead singer.

 

On Sunday 16 July, Havana Good Time will be entertaining the crowds with their impressive band, made up of 20 members. The musicians will be playing a number of instruments - including trumpets, piano, saxophones, electric bass guitar, flutes, conga and timbales (snare drums) - all of which add to their energetic, eclectic compositions. The bands will be in the centre from 1pm – 3.30pm.

 

Alongside the music, Salsamoves dance group will be swinging their hips and showing off their moves to the beat of the drums. The salsa dancers will be in the centre from 12-4pm in the centre, on both days.

 

Although the dancers will not be teaching shoppers to salsa, they welcome those who already know how to dance to join in.

 

If that’s not enough for you, shoppers will be invited to hop onboard Capital Radio’s Routemaster bus to receive a goodie bag. The bus will be parked outside on the High Street entrance on Saturday between 10am and 1pm.

 

There will be more musical entertainment next weekend when the centre will be hosting the Jambalaya Trio and the Nigel Price Trio for some jazz and blues.

 

Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre Manager Elizabeth Bell said: “The festival is proving as popular as ever and it’s always a pleasure to have live music in the centre.

 

“It will be a nice treat for shoppers to take the time out of their busy schedules to relax and listen to the music. We hope our customers enjoy the different styles of music we are able to offer each weekend in July.”
