Explore Brent River Park


Meet Outside The Fox pub at 2pm

Residents are invited to enjoy the history and wildlife of Brent River Park on a guided walk led by Ealing’s Park Rangers on Saturday 26 May.

The 1.5 mile walk includes the Grand Union Canal at the Hanwell Flight, the newly reinstated river meander at Fitzherbert Walk, historic Hanwell Bridge, the rich ecology of Brent Meadow, Brunel's Wharncliffe Viaduct, historic Churchfields Recreation Ground and family favourite Brent Lodge Park.

Walkers will also get to see recent improvements to the park funded by the Mayor of London's Help a London Park project and funding from Ealing Council. These include new enclosures for birds and the marmosets at the animal centre and restoration work around the at Fitzherbert Walk.

To take part, meet at 2pm outside the Fox pub on Green Lane, Hanwell, W7 2PJ. The walk is expected to take around an hour and end at Brent Lodge Animal Centre in Church Road, Hanwell.

Walkers are advised to wear suitable shoes as paths may be muddy. This walk is suitable for wheelchairs.

Brent River Park was one of 10 public parks in the capital which has received £400,000 each from Mayor Boris Johnson's Help a London Park programme.
