New Exhibition at PM Gallery and House

Addressing the Need: The Graphic Design of the Eames Office

'Addressing the Need: The Graphic Design of the Eames Office' is an exhibition organised in collaboration with the Eames Office focusing on the graphic design and filmworks of Charles and Ray Eames.

Charles and Ray Eames were America’s iconic 20th century design couple; world famous for their pioneering furniture, much of which is still in production today. Working from their office in California, as well as designing furniture they also spent much of their time creating exhibitions, making films, and even designing toys.

The exhibition will include many rare examples of their work, some of which have never previously been exhibited including rare examples of advertising, packaging, film and photography.

This exhibition at PM Gallery presents their lesser known, but no less significant contributions to the design world, celebrating their unique approach to problem-solving and examining some of the many examples of graphic communication that it produced.

It runs from September 14 – November 3 2012 at PM Gallery & House in Ealing.

There is a gallery tour on Saturday 13 October at 2pm which is free and no booking is necessary. On Thursday 25 October there is Film Screening Evening from 6pm. Tickets £5, please call 020 8567 1227 to book Image Credits:
