Hundreds show their support for much loved local Lane
Locals turned out en masse to celebrate the reopening of Pitshanger Lane on Saturday.
The busy shopping street has undergone a transformation in the 'Streets For People' scheme with newly laid pavements and street furniture.
Shops had special promotional offers for the day and many provided free cupcakes, balloons & face painting.
There was plenty of food on offer and many stores offered free taster samples - there was also a very good trade in special Pitshanger Lane products, - mugs, notebooks and keyrings.
The Lane is a popular community focal point and many of the shops are run by independent traders.
Local feelings are running high about proposals for a Tesco supermarket for the Lane and many people signed up for a newsletter to hear more news about this.
