Open Ealing Presents Love Screens


Three new plays being streamed this Friday

Love Screens is a new production presented by Open Ealing comprising three short plays written by Nicolas Ridley that explore those moments that may alter the course of love and life.

Directed by Anthony Shrubsall, featuring seven actors, Sophie Morris-Sheppard, Isabella Inchbald, Calum Wragg-Smith, Sarah Lawrie, Alexander Jonas, Samantha Parry and Stephen Omer, the plays are a pre-recorded premiere adapted to and shaped for screen following Lockdown.

They are to be streamed on Friday 11 September at 7.30pm UK time. The broadcast will be followed by a live Q and A with writer, director and actors.

 

“Besties” is a monologue performed by Sophie Morris-Sheppard. Lockdown may be over – at least for the present – but it’s not as if everything is back to where it was. Playwright Nicolas Ridley has lived and worked in Tokyo, Casablanca, Barcelona, Hong Kong & Paris and now lives in London & Bath where he writes fiction, non-fiction, scripts and stage plays under different names. His plays have been
performed by professional and non-professional companies in theatres and at drama festivals in England, Scotland, NorthernIreland, the Isles of Scilly, the Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Australia.

Director Anthony Shrubsall is a founder member of And Tomorrow Theatre Company and the Entire Theatre Company, and former academic.
