Sell Out Concert at OPEN Ealing

Funds raised for Palestinian charities

Community arts centre OPEN Ealing was the venue on Friday 18 November for a very special charity concert of Palestinian music.

Our professional musicians who also teach in the music department at An Najah National University in the West Bank played to an appreciative full house.

Almost £1000 was raised from ticket sales – to be split between two charities – one supporting the new Teaching Hospital based on the university campus, and the other which fundraises to buy olive trees for village communities and supports students in their studies.*

‘We were absolutely delighted to host this sell-out concert and see such support for this cause from our local community’ said OPEN’s Project Manager David Highton.

OPEN Ealing is a community arts project set up by West Ealing Arts and supported by A2Dominion, Ealing Arts+Leisure and West Ealing Neighbours. OPEN aims to encourage all members of the community to enjoy and participate in the arts.

* The 2 charities are 1) Friends of An Najah (FAN) and 2) Friends of Nablus and Surrounding Areas (FONSA). Both are registered in Scotland and both have websites which give full information. Fonsa has been in  existence for over 4 years, and several trustees for both live locally in Ealing.
