Get Your Running Shoes on

and get in some training for the Ealing half marathon

You've still got plenty of time to get training - so no excuses (although sadly I can think of a few).

The 1st Ealing Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 30th September 2012, starting and finishing in Lammas Park.

The course is relatively flat and offers a single, traffic free lap taking in Central, North and West Ealing before returning through Walpole & Lammas Parks.  Bottled water will be provided at regular intervals and a quality commemorative medal will be awarded to every finisher.

Online entry has opened via the ealinghalfmarathon.com website with an ‘early bird’ discount of £5 available until Sunday 26th February 2012.

Event Director, Kelvin Walker of Pitshanger, Ealing told of the vision behind the event, “Having participated in many mass participation events all over London and beyond, it was clear that Ealing with it’s active residents, excellent public transport links and great parks would be an ideal host for such an event.  The vision of thousands of runners enjoying the borough while being supported by friends, family & local residents was at the forefront of the planning process”.

Epilepsy Action are the Official Charity for the Ealing Half Marathon 2012 and runners will be encouraged to raise money for Epilepsy Action through fundraising activity in the build up to race day.

Ealing Eagles Running Club will be offering a comprehensive training programme for runners of all abilities, with special sessions planned for runners taking part in their first half marathon.

The event organisers are in discussion with a number of potential event sponsors, but are keen to discuss opportunities with local businesses & brands looking to support the event and gain great exposure.

Those wanting to be involved in the event without running 13.1 miles (21.08km) have the opportunity to volunteer in a wide number of roles on race day and the preceding weeks.  Potential volunteers are asked to register their interest on the ealinghalfmarathon.com website.
