New term restarts on Saturday 21st April at Elthorne


Games on Saturday 31 March
Game 1 – Maple Leafs 3 vs Canucks 3

Finley Ashton opened scoring for Maple leafs on a set up form Kai Jemiirifo. Alister Rae replied for the Canucks on a setup by Alistair Muckle. Kai Jemiirifo then scored again for maple leafs. Alister Rae once again scored for the Canucks with the goal being set up / assisted by William Ashton. Tao Jemiirifo then scored to give the maple leafs the lead once again. With the score 3-2 in favour of the Maple leafs and with the Canucks playing shorthanded (ie they had a player in the penalty box / “sin bin” and therefore were playing with one less man) Alister Rae scored once again (to get his hat trick) to tie the game

Goalies for the game were Dominic Rae for the Canucks and Luke Nayyer for the Maple Leafs

Game 2 – Knights 5 vs Eagles 2
The knights opened the scoring with a goal by Charlotte Killick that was set up by Jessica Rae. The Eagles then scored to tie the game on a goal by James killick. The Knights again went out ahead with a goal by Jessica Rae that was set up with a nice pass from Charlotte Killick. Charlotte Killick then took their lead to 3-1 with another nice goal. The Eagles then brought the score close again with another goal by James Killick. The Knights then pulled ahead for good with another goal by Jessica Rae. Charlotte Killick then rounded out the scoring (& completed her hat trick) with a nice setup again by Jessica Rae.

End of Term Awards

Most Sportsmanlike Player (awarded for those showing respect, listening to instruction, Consideration of teammates and other team)

12 and under – Finley Ashton
9 and under – Dominic Rae (nominated for often being the first to go help an injured player regardless of which team they are on)

Top Forward

12 and under – Jessica Rae (tied for the lead overall in scoring, plays with a tenacious spirit, leading point getter in terms of end of game nominations)
9 and under – Bryan Stevenson (good forechecking, good passing and confident when playing against older children)

Top Defense/Goalie

12 and under – Becky Everett (good positional play, breaking up of passes, works hard)
9 and under – Daniel McEvoy (new player this term who plays hard and has tried out goal position a few times and picked up instruction quickly, good at positioning himself and using his stick to “poke check” the ball off other players stick)

Most Improved Player

12 and under – Alex Evans (tied for 6th in scoring and finished second in end of game top player nominations)
9 and under –Changhe Lee (works hard, plays tenacious on defense, fearless against bigger children)


Additional Information
We will restart next term on Saturday 21 April and move to MUGA court behind Elthorne Sports Centre. Time of play is 9.45 – 11.45. All children 4 to 14 are welcome .
