Campaign for Real Ale hosts Ealing Beer Festival this week
Like the Pied Piper, Ealing Pubcrawlers are rounding up the troops for this month's beer swilling bash. And like the Pied Piper they're not likely to meet much resistance.
The Ealing Pubcrawl Group describes itself as a great way of meeting local people in the Ealing area.
"We are a friendly, informal group of 30s to mid 40-somethings who get together in the Ealing area once per month, each time venturing into a different pub," said Fiona, a founder member. "The group has been running for a couple of years now and the bars where we meet are carefully chosen to be always friendly, warm and welcoming. From our group of around fifty members, about 10 will come along each month. Everyone is welcome, so come along and meet new friends!"
This month's stop is the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) Beer Festival at the old Barclay's sports ground on Park View Road.
The festival moved from Ealing Town Hall to make it an outdoor event with more space.
Camra's website promises: "All of your favorite activities from previous Ealing Beer Festivals will be there, plus a few more that we think you may enjoy."
Pubcrawlers rejoice - there are close to 120 Cask Beers, ciders and perries, draught & bottled foreign beers, Real Ale in Bottles, Fruit Wines and Mead.
And it's not all about beer...CAMRA promises pub games, stalls, a children's area, and a wide range of hot and cold food.
