Local Eco Warriers Come to the Fair

And donate two tickets to EalingToday.co.uk subscribers

Two local environmentally friendly businesses, Revampt and Harlands Organic Furnishings, are taking part in the Landmark Arts Centre Eco Fair, Richmond on the 29 and 30 September. Both companies have been quietly banging the drum for the planet and developing creative solutions for stylish and chic, earth-friendly gifts and furnishings.

Sarah Baulch runs ReVampt, a company redesigning clothing and textile waste into soft furnishings for the home, gifts and accessories. Lisa Harland’s company, Harlands Organic Furnishings specialises in chemical free upholstered furniture, made to measure curtains & blinds and hand made soft furnishings.

Sarah and Lisa have donated one pair of tickets to the Eco Fair this weekend - which includes admittance to the private view on Friday 28th during which celebrities will be awarding prizes for environmentally friendly and ethical products. Kevin McCloud will be there! The tickets will go to the first person to email editor@ealingtoday.co.uk.

Sarah feels that we need to break the cycle and prevent the 50 per cent of textile waste that ends up in landfill getting there. She turns jeans into shopping bags, shirts into cushions, and scraps into Christmas decorations.

Lisa believes that the production of home furnishings does not need to have a damaging impact on the environment. "With the concerns mounting over a whole range of issues such as pesticides, the use of sweatshop labour and animal welfare, I am determined to show customers that there is a better way by going organic".

The Landmark Eco Fair will bring a new opportunity for the public to see how good style needn't be at the cost of the planet. Come along and take the first steps to cut your carbon footprint and help halt climate change.
