Next performance headlined by Hal Cruttenden and Matt Kirshen

Downstairs at the Drayton's oustanding new season of comedy continues this Friday (May 22) with a great double featuring Hal Cruttenden and Matt Kirshen.

Former Ealing resident Cruttenden is a top comics as well as being an accomplished writer and actor.

His big breakthrough in stand-up came with his nomination for the Perrier Newcomer Award in 2002 and he is now a regular headliner at all the top clubs, including the Comedy Store and Jongleurs, and has supported Ardal O'Hanlon and Omid Djalili on tour.

Cruttenden has appeared on 'Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive' for BBC3 and has just finished writing and performing in 'The Omid Djalili Show'

His other television credits include, 'The 11 O'Clock Show', (Channel 4), 'Brain Candy' (BBC3), and 'The Deputy Prime Minister' (BBC2), '

Hal's acting career includes roles on TV and film in 'Shackleton', 'Eastenders', 'Kavanagh QC', 'Out of the Blue', 'Touching Evil' and 'Bramwell'. On film he has been in 'Mrs Dalloway' and 'The Madness of King George'.

Matt Kirshen's precision wit and engagingly impish style has made him a firm favourite with audiences at top clubs all over the country.

He has an impressive array of awards and press accolades under his belt: after winning the 2003 Hackney Empire New Act of the Year competition, he became an instant success, performing to festival crowds at Glastonbury and The Carling Weekend in Reading and Leeds as well as earning prestigious support slots on tour with Marcus Brigstoke, Jeff Green and Ed Byrne.
