Comedy Downstairs at the Drayton

---

It's back and it promises to be better than ever

TWO AWARD-WINNING comics headline Downstairs at the Drayton in the next fortnight.

On Friday (February 6th) we have a double headline bill featuring the astonishing comic whirlwind that is Phil Nichol, winner of the If.comedy award (previously the Perrier) in 2006, along with hilarious Drayton favourites Frank Sanazi and the Iraq pack.

Then on February 13th, double Perrier nominee and Bafta winner Chris Addison makes a rare comedy club apearance,  becoming the latest TV star to play the venue. Others have included Harry Hill, Omid Djalili and Dave Gorman.

Tickets for both shows priced at £12.00 are available now from www.wegottickets.com

You never know quite what is going to happen when Nichol takes to the stage. He once infamously stripped naked for 'the walk of shame' when appearing on a special comic's episode of  The Weakest Link, and the reviews for his legendary stand-up shows send the press into overdrive.

The Metro described Nichol as ''Springing like a wound-up squirrel from the woods of his ridiculous imagination. This , breathlessly versatile performer could render the Financial Times a frothing tsunami of fun,''

And the Scotsman reviewer said: ''This is awesome, pin-you-in-your-seats stuff. Nichol has the kind of firepower onstage that would make a visit from the UN Weapons Inspectorate perfectly understandable. This is body, heart and soul humour”

CHRIS ADDISON has charmed audiences and critics alike as a top-class purveyor of smartarse daftness. He is well known for his appearances in the Bafta-winning comedy The Thick of It, and last year's hit prime-time BBC2 sitcom Lab Rats.

He has also been busy working on 'In the Loop' a new political film directed by Armando Innuci, Banter (BBC Radio 4),'The Department' (BBC Radio 4) and 'Have I Got News For You'  (BBC1 ) but is now back on stage doing what he does best. S o get in fast to book your tickets to see the comic the Observer critic described as: ''The best stand-up I've seen."
