Established nearly 2 years ago the Classic Cinema Club Ealing has shown some of the world’s greatest classic films from different countries and from very famous film producers.
Within the last 6 months we are cited by Time Out in their “Critic’s Choice” and “Film Club” rubric.
We aim to make going to the cinema an all round entertaining experience by teaming together our monthly themes programme with atmospheric additions. Some films have and will be shown in different locations around Ealing and near London (Ealing Studio, outdoor private garden, the Nehru Centre and some more surprising places).
We invite many directors of classic and recent films for Q&A sessions on a regular basis and thanks to our links with universities we shall be showing end of the year students’ films. In order to keep on making your experience more refreshing there are opportunities after the films to join some of our theme’s appropriate parties and will introduce very soon silent films with their “explainers”.
Themes coming up in the next months are Hitchcock’s, Spring Extravaganza, Cannes’ festival, Cow-Boys, Risk Taking, Classic French, Cult movies, Authors’ films, Literary Adaptation, Experimental and Passion films etc…..
All our films are shown in their original versions with English subtitles every Friday of the month (Except August) at 7:30pm in Ealing Town Hall.
They are preceded by an introduction and followed by open discussions/Q&A with our viewers. Our aim is to select, discuss and present films in collaboration with the viewers and creative people to provide a bridge between people, culture and knowledge.
Films are selected by our committee members made of cinephiles, neophytes and cineastes, they take into account our viewers’ suggestions, the local/ international news and charitable events and aim at reflecting the international cultures of our viewers without forgetting our entertaining purpose.
