Weat Ealing Gets Crafty and Helps Local Economy

A monthly craft market to start in W13

After a year of discussion and negotiation Ealing Council have given West Ealing Neighbours (WEN) the go-ahead to run a monthly craft market in St James Avenue.

WEN wanted to build on the success of the very popular annual Arts and Crafts Fair held each November in St James Church.

It will run one Saturday each month, probably from 10am to 2pm so it overlaps with the regular weekly farmers market.

The aim will be to ensure all goods sold are locally produced and of a high quality.

David Highton from WEN says:

''We want to see a craft market giving residents another reason to shop locally and support local craftspeople and , if we can get it right, we may be able to encourage some new local businesses to start up as a result.''
