You can get to hear about the major developments for Walpole Park at a public meeting on Saturday, 7 January.
The meeting will be held at 3pm in Ealing Green Church Hall, Ealing Green and the Council will present plans to restore some of the park’s heritage features as well as build a new community classroom, refreshments kiosk and public toilets.
There will also be an opportunity for children over the age of five to have their say by taking part in an art workshop during the presentation.
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport and environment, said: “It’s a great opportunity for local people and visitors to the park to come along and see what we’ve got planned. The new facilities will provide young people and heritage fans with a great learning opportunity. There is so much more to come for the park and the Olympics Torch Relay ‘stop-over’ party and Ealing Summer Festivals, mean 2012 promises to be an exciting year for Walpole Park.”
In July 2011 the council was awarded £2.4million by the Heritage Lottery Fund to help restore and preserve some of the park’s historic features. The funding will be used over the next four years to support the council’s commitment to protect and re-grow some of the park’s original trees and plants.

Volunteers are welcome to join the established gardening project responsible for attending to the heritage kitchen garden.
Sessions run every Thursday 10am – 12 noon in the park’s Walled Garden giving people an opportunity to learn about horticulture.
